Holy Grail Foundations

There’s no secret that finding your perfect holy grain foundation can be hard to find. It might take some time and a couple of misses before you find the perfect one. Having a great foundation is the starting base for any makeup look and is very essential. When I first started doing my makeup I turned to the drug store, which typically everyone does, I did not have much luck and went to the high-end, which I loved. Investing in a great foundation that you love is totally worth it, but I have recently fell in love with a drug store foundation that I am excited to share with you all! So below I will be sharing my holy grail foundations, both high-end and drug store.

Holy Grail High-End

My holy grail high-end foundation is Estee Lauder Double Wear.

I first heard about this foundation on YouTube, which is very popular and raved about  in the beauty world. I gear towards full coverage foundations and I have oily skin so I wanted a foundation that would cover everything and control my oils and this stuff does exactly that! This is full coverage yet does not make you look cake faced or look like you have a mask on, which nobody likes. I would recommend this foundation for any skin type, I know people who have dry skin that love this foundation as well. This foundation is more on the pricer side, retails for $37, but is worth every penny. And since it is a full coverage foundation you only need a couple of dots to cover your whole face, so the product also lasts you a long time. Overall this is an amazing product that I will continue to repurchase.

Holy Grail Drug Store

L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation

I am head over heels in love with this foundation! I honestly feel like this is a dupe for the Estee Lauder Double Wear. This foundation does exactly what the Double Wear does plus it feels lighter! It is also a fraction of the price! It retails from $11.99 to $12.99 depending what drug store you buy it at. The longevity of this product is pretty amazing and it is matte so all my oily prone girls will love this. If your face is more on the dry side I would recommend adding a moisturizer first before applying the foundation and it will still look flawless. Many beauty gurus say that this foundation has the quality of many high-end foundations and it even better than most, which I totally agree! This foundation is worth trying in my opinion since it is so affordable and accessible.

My Favorite Highlighters

Highlighters are my favorite part about doing my whole makeup. There’s just something about that glow on your cheeks that makes you feel like a million bucks! I pretty much have an addiction with highlighters and I can’t get enough of them! Below I will mention the highlighters that I own that I absolutely love and I think are worth adding to your makeup kit.

1. Mary-Lou Manizer By The Balm

My first ever highlighter that I bought was Mary-Lou Manizer by The Balm. This retails on their website for $24 and they occasionally have sales so that’s when I bought mine. This highlighter has a champagne undertone and is very pigmented. It is my everyday highlighter and I also wear it as an eyeshadow when I’m going for a more natural look. I will most definitely be buying it again in the future!

2. Opal By Becca

I saw so many videos on YouTube raving about this highlighter. I wanted it so bad, but I just contemplated spending $38 on it even though I knew it was totally worth it. My best friend ended up actually giving it to me as a Christmas gift and I love it! The longevity is amazing and it is more on the intense side, which I’m all for. The texture of the power is very soft and pigmented so a little goes a long way. Compared to the Mary-Lou Manzier this is more of a gold highlighter.

3. Highly Waisted By ColourPop

ColourPop is a brand that I first discovered through Instagram then through reviews on YouTube. This brand is very affordable and the quality of the products are amazing! They have a total of 16 shades of highlighters and they all cost $8! Plus if you sign up for their newsletters you get $5 off your order! I got my highlighter in the shade highly waisted which is a soft golden peach with pink and gold duo chrome finishes. Would recommend this shade for my girls who are medium skin tones and darker. If you are very fair this might look more on the orange side. The texture of this is very soft and bouncy, I have nothing else like it in my collection, which makes it unique!

4. Gilded Honey by Laura Geller

This is my latest highlighter purchase and actually my favorite out of all the highlighters that I own. I LOVE this highlighter! This is a true gold highlighter that I have been craving for ever since I wanted Estee Lauder’s Heat Wave, but unfortunately did not get my hands on since it was limited edition. Then I heard that this gem was a dupe for that highlighter so I purchased it since I heard good reviews on it. It gives your cheeks an amazing glow! This retails for $26 and I highly recommend it!
